Going into this book, I thought it was all going to be about relationships which was the aspect of the book that I least enjoyed. Spiritual disciplines create openings in our lives where the grace, mercy and presence of God may be experienced. I want to rate this 5 stars because there are poems in this book that I like, but I don't like over half of the book.And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Some of the poems are really good but a lot of them feels like spoken word that are formed and indented to make it "look" like poetry when it is just. It’s not even just about zodiac signs, it’s about emotions and personality and knowing yourself in a gentle way.

To use a more contemporary language, John Wesley laid out a ‘rule of life’ for the early Methodist people. For times w hen things don’t go to plan, spaces of care and reflection have been created by the chaplaincy team. Yesterday the doorbell rang so I had to pause reading, went to open it, had a quick chat with the postman, fed my cat and then went back to this book, read 5 full pages only to realize that I had no fucking clue what sign we were talking about. It’s beautifully written and the author manages to talk about astrology in a way that is so sensitive and empathetic. As part of the Methodist Church, we seek to demonstrate our open, inclusive and welcoming nature by saying to all people, 'There is Room' for you.

They are barely deep and talk about heavy topics people will relate to or at least cause them to feel pity. There is room here, not just for you to make God big, but for you to take up your bigness in the energy that God is all around you, in you, and through you. And I am not saying that the 30% that are actually are about the zodiac signs are bad because they're not totally terrible, for example I liked how she introduced every sign by listing things that make her think of each of them. It also involves exterior actions – opening your arms to those around you and offering compassion to those in need. Separated into three sections: Stumbling, Falling, and Landing, it’s about complicated family relationships, reconciling with your anxious attachment style, finding a healthy love, and building something you hope will last.

As in all other areas of Wesleyan theology, grace pervades these practices, and a wide range of works of piety and mercy shaped early Methodists as a people of grace and love.It's unavoidable because everyone, no matter their sign, is multifaceted and hard to put into a box. Quite a few of the poems I found fit that bill - paintings brought to life, but not all of them lived up to that personal standard. There were a couple of poems I really liked, and I did love how Angemeer incorporated the themes of falling in love, trying to heal and move on, and how this all started from childhood, particularly the relationship between the narrator and their parents. That's not a gripe or anything, but it can leave the reader feeling somewhat left out if the words don't resonate with them. Although I read her discretions in the beginning, the book couldn’t help but make me feel like I could only relate with one section because of my sign.
