Alternate Cantonese Version (HD, 93 min) is the reportedly original Hong Kong release placing the Ji Han-jae fight earlier in the movie and the happier ferry ending, but some of the material was taken from standard definition sources, as they are the best available. However, the video comes with its share of soft, blurry sequences, many of which also have a grain structure that noticeably fluctuates from scene to scene.

Watching all of these back-to-back, it posits an interesting conundrum - as a set of films, they do not seem to warrant Lee’s place in cinema history: some of them clumsily put together, with amateurish and derivative plotting and acting, with Lee’s admittedly excellent fight skills only really being shown in the final acts of, well, all of them. Although fixed to the center of the screen, imaging comes with a great sense of presence and balance, exhibiting clean definition and fidelity in the music while the action maintains excellent distinction and clarity in the upper frequencies. However, since childhood, I've always distinctly remembered the fight between John Saxon's Roper and Bolo Yeung, the cool and suave Jim Kelly's Williams and, of course, Han's three-knives prosthetic while going toe-to-toe against the unbeatable Bruce Lee inside the mirror room. The first three movies and Game of Death are UHD discs with outstanding Dolby Vision HDR videos and excellent DTS-HD MA soundtracks. And in a year when the likes of Second Sight have produced such prestige sets for their horror classics, I’ll be amazed if this one isn’t the single best physical media boxset release of 2023 come the end of December.

So he was then advised by a producer friend to go back to Hong Kong, where he could make a feature film that would showcase his obvious talents. The rest are Blu-rays with also excellent audio and video presentations of each, four of which are bonus discs housing exhaustive featurettes and alternate versions of the aforementioned Bruceploitation movies.

NEW Visions of Fury (HD, 36 min) is a featurette examining the collaboration between Lee and the filmmakers of his first two films and featuring various interviews. The Hong Kong Connection (1080i/60, 19 min) is a 2003 featurette with cast and crew interviews remembering Lee.Although the colors seem a tad more subdued and controlled compared to the first movie, the overall palette, nonetheless, appears bolder and fuller than its Blu-ray counterparts.
