exams; a new teacher with a personality like poisoned honey; a venomous, disgruntled house-elf; or even the growing threat of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Rowling has also written a standalone novel, The Casual Vacancy, and is the author of the Strike crime series under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.

Jim studied illustration at the University of Westminster and since graduating has worked in the archives of Tate Britain and the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. Jim Kay's evocative illustrations breathe life into the characters and settings, capturing the essence of J.

She claims that she never paid much attention in meetings because she was too busy scribbling down ideas. With its oversized format, high-quality paper, ribbon bookmark, and color on nearly every page, this edition is the perfect gift for Harry Potter fans and book lovers of all ages.

I love his interpretation of Harry Potter’s world, and I feel honoured and grateful that he has lent his talent to it’ – J. This is not intended to be a full statement of all your rights under the Distance Selling Regulations. In 1996, one year after finishing the book, Bloomsbury bought Jo’s first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. We do not watch the movie until a year after the book and I think that the pictures help launch the child's imagination. Rumour as it Jim Kay was finding it all a strain and had to take a sabbatical and Neil Parker was brought in to help him out. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them went on to inspire a new series of films featuring Magizoologist Newt Scamander.

Rowling collaborated with playwright Jack Thorne and director John Tiffany to continue Harry’s story in a stage play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which opened in London in 2016 and is now playing worldwide. The illustrations, with a few minor exceptions, actually look like the images we got from reading the books and watching the movies. The script book was published to mark the plays opening in 2016 and instantly topped the bestseller lists. Personally I don't mind that too much and find those small ornamentations more effective, somewhat more subtle and classy, than some of the more garish full page pictures. The fifth book in the beloved, bestselling Harry Potter series, now illustrated in brilliant full color.

Now an exciting new collaboration brings together two virtuoso artistic talents, as Kate Greenaway Medal winner Jim Kay is joined by acclaimed guest illustrator Neil Packer, winner of the 2021 BolognaRagazzi Award for non-fiction. I love his interpretation of Harry Potter's world, and I feel honoured and grateful that he has lent his talent to it' - J. K. Rowling also wrote three short companion volumes for charity: Quidditch Through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, in aid of Comic Relief, and The Tales of Beedle the Bard, in aid of her international children’s charity, Lumos.
