Description

Whether you’re new to sewing or are a seasoned pro, sewing books will give you inspiration and help you practise your sewing skills. If you’re a fabric hoarder (no judgement here!) having a sewing book to hand will give you an excuse to go through your fabric stash and finally put some of those fabrics you’ve bought from craft fairs and craft stores over the years to good use. You can’t have too many sewing books! They’re a great way to practise your sewing skills and with Christmas around the corner, it’s worth taking a moment to see which sewing books you’d like to add to your Santa wish list. Sewing Bee have already made a treasure trove of companion books to the show. Many of our readers took advantage of our subscription offer last year to grab a copy of The Modern Wardrobe. The Sewing Bee books build on each other to develop your skills and let you specialise in areas that match with your interests. The 2023 edition of our ever-popular Great British Sewing Bee digital book is live now! Feeling inspired by the return of The Great British Sewing Bee? We’ve got you covered

The first episode of The Great British Sewing Bee Season 9 will be on our screens at 9pm on Wednesday 24th May! In previous seasons, they have been joined by a non-sewing host - first Claudia Winkleman, and then Joe Lycett. The new host is Sara Pascoe - and we're excited to see her on this season because we know she can sew! She was one of the celebrity contestants on the 2020 Christmas Sewing Bee and she showed some great skills. Get to know the judges in this must-read interview!

The date for Season 8's premiere is 27th April 2022. It aired at 8pm on BBC One and will be the first of 10 episodes. Until we hear any news on the episodes, we’d love to hear any Sewing Bee predictions you might have… a reduce reuse recycle themed challenge is a safe bet in my eyes.

Yes indeed! It's a wonderful book of patterns and techniques, created by Season 5 winner, Juliet Uzor. Juliet is a regular columnist for Love Sewing magazine and has even graced our cover! As ever, we're expecting to see 12 keen contestents, each bringing something new and unique to the sewing room. Every week the sewists will undertake three challenges to test their technical skills, creativity and ability to work under pressure.
